OBITUARY

Quincy: Charles E. Hirtle, 98, retired owner of the Charles E. Hirtle Plumbing and Heating Co. of Quincy, died yesterday in Emerson Hosp. in Concord. Born in Nova Scotia, he was a resident of Quincy for 60 years before moving to the Walden Nursing Home, Concord, 2 yrs ago. He owned the plumbing and heating company for 50 yrs. He was a member of St. Chrysostoms Episcopal Church, Wollaston. Husband of the late Gertrude [Allen] Hirtle, he is survived by 2 sons: Allen Hirtle of Acton and Paul Hirtle of Bedford; and 3 grandchildren - Christopher Hirtle, Andrew Hirtle, and Sarah Hirtle, all of Acton. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cem., Wollaston, Mass.
