Obituary of Mr. George Hirtle:

It is with feelings of sorrow that we are called to record the death of Mr. George Hirtle, in the 28th year of his age, a member of the Congregation of St. Paul's Church, Bridgewater. The circumstances of his death are involved in some mystery. He left his father's house to perform some labour in the woods. Not returning home at the usual hour, search was forthwith made, and the body of the unfortunate young man was found in the woods, life extinct - his sun went down in the prime of life, and his labours on earth have ceased.

He was a good man, much beloved and esteemed by all who knew him, and we trust that he has been transplanted from the Church militant to the Church triumphant. The funeral services were performed by his pastor, the Editor of this paper, on the 18th of February last. May the Lord sanctify to his bereaved parents and friends, the sudden affliction brought upon them. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord."
