SCHRIDER, Nellie Alice "Mother Nellie"SCHRIDER, Nellie Alice "Mother Nellie" - 88, Geoggin, Guysborough Co., died peacefully August 20, 2002, in Northwood Centre, Halifax. She was a daughter of the late Jacob and Jane (MacDonald) Croft. She is survived by her loving sons, Harvey Schrider, Dartmouth; Wendell Baker, Oxford; many nieces and nephews. Nellie was the last surviving member of the Croft family and the oldest member of Revival Tabernacle Church, Halifax, where she attended for the last several years, being baptized in the name of Jesus. She was affectionately known as "Mother Nellie" to the congregation. Mother Nellie worked at the lumber camps in Guysborough County with her husband Henry Schrider and son, Harvey Schrider, she also worked for many years at the lobster factory. She was predeceased by husband, Henry; sisters, Myrtle, Mildred, Stella, Edna, Gladys; brothers, Stanford, Douglas. Visiting 7-9 p.m. today in Ecum Secum Funeral Home. Funeral service 2:30 p.m. Friday in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Liscomb, Rev. Dianna Brett-Fry officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
